Yet Another iOS 5 UNTETHERED Jailbreak Update From pod2g "Focused on A5"
In a blog post titled "Focused on A5" pod2g, the person responsible for the upcoming iOS 5 untethered Jailbreak, tells us the Jailbreak is almost complete... at least for non-A5 iDevices. pod2g has send all of the info and details to Chronic Dev who are going to put together the Jailbreak for public release. While they are working on that, pod2g will be focusing on getting a working untethered Jailbreak for the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S. He hopes to find a "path quick" with a little help from Chronic Dev as well.
"I read the comments on the blog, and I know that a lot of people are waiting for the A5 jailbreak.
Also, I know there are tons of people out there with A4 or even earlier devices who wants the untether now and don't care about it could be interesting to wait A5 is finished to release or even 5.1, so that we don't waste an exploit that took me months to find and develop.
I need to focus on A5 and hope I can find a path quick, and I have the feeling that chronic-dev could help me.
So, here is what I did:
- I gave all the details to the chronic dev team so that they can finish, test, integrate and release the A4 jb ASAP.
- I'll put all my energy from now on on the A5
Hope I don't disappoint.
See you." However, in the post he does mention wanting to wait for iOS 5.1 to be released publicly by Apple so that he can see if his exploit was patched. This could possibly mean we might have to wait until January for the release of the untethered Jailbreak but no official word from pod2g, just a thought. If he were to release the Jailbreak for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 before the public release of 5.1, Apple could patch his exploit which "took months to find and develop". So if we wait for 5.1 to release we could possibly have the latest firmware untethered and Jailbroken. This of course means a longer wait, but a more recent Jailbreak.
What do you guys think?

Apple is Sending Out an iOS 5.0.1 Update to Limited Users Over Battery Issues
Apparently, there are a small number of iOS 5 users that have had battery life issues. Apple has been diligently working to address the issue, and is seeding their iOS 5.0.1 update to these users and a small sampling of testers. This update also brings some Siri improvements for Australian users, multitasking gestures to the first generation iPad, and a few other bug fixes. Right now, users that go into an Apple store to complain about the issue have been directed to wait a few weeks for this software update. Above is a snippet from a support email, and below is an internal Apple memo.
Apple leaks second generation iPhone 4S details through iTunes update
Although the clock is ticking and the moment Apple will reveal the new iPhone 5 is close, the latest update in iTunes reveals a new reference to an iPhone 4S, an improved version of the current Apple designed phone.
The update released at the end of last week contains files mentioning an iPhone 4S that is available in both black and white, which leads to questions about the details of this phone. Reportedly the 4S will use the same glass for the back panel as the iPhone 4 and will be available in both colors from launch. The antenna design will be improved, making for the only visible difference between the two phones. It is also expected that the iPhone 4S will be a dual-mode phone, which means it will be used on both CDMA and GSM networks.
As for the new iPhone 5 that will be announced Tuesday, October 4th, details managed to filter through the tightly closed Apple front doors. Although we await confirmation, rumor has it that the fifth generation of iPhones will have an 8MP camera, 512 MB of RAM and will feature support for HSPA, as well as the same processor as the iPad 2.It is also known that with the new generation of iPhones comes with a new OS, with brand new features. Among the rumored abilities of iOS 5 is a new voice recognition technology running under the application named ?Assistant?. This will allow owners to speak into the phones and order it to accomplish a number of tasks. Some of the tasks the technology will support are sending texts, looking up information on the internet, searching through files stored on the phone or scheduling appointments in the calendar.

Some problems since update
I just noticed some troble with my IPad after updating to the new Software.
First of all, I wasn`t able to update through iTunes, so I had to download a Firmware and installed it manually. Now the problems:
1. I use Atomic Web as Webbrowser, when I multitask, and go back to Atomic, it shows the Startscreen like I would open it for the first time, not the page I left before.
2. When browsing the www, on some pages I can`t post in forums (f.e. on this forum). The cuorsor jumps from the Title-space to Tags-space, but I can`t select the field, which I should write the message in.
3. When I want to watch a video on apple.com, my IPad tells me I have to install QuickTimePlayer, although I already watched videos on this side before the Update.
thx in advance
