They got one with iTunes right though, when they say if you do not have an iPhone you do not have a "telephone" with iTunes on it.

Did anyone notice the UK iPhone add indicating that if you do not have the iPhone you not iBook and iBook store or complete a library in your Pocket? It is me or am lacking something? I do not have an iPhone and I have iBooks and iBook store in my pocket in the form of an ipod touch, I think that someone slipped up somewhere.

I've seen lots of questions and answers on how to best place videos and DVDs on iPad.

There are other programs and methods out there to do the same thing and others swear by them. This works for me. I hope this helps some people.
While this is not a definitive answer, I find these 2 pieces of software and describe the processed below help me to get a video DVD that I want on the iPad with a minimum of fuss and disorder.
I hope that this guide help.
For films, TV series, any type of video on my iPad, here's what I do.
I use 2 different programs depending on the type of video I deal with.
If this is a video on a DVD, I use Of Daniusoft DVD to iPad converter.
If this is a video from another source, then I use Format factory.
I am sure that each of these programs can convert any type of video as the other, but I found about these programs at separate times at different stages of what I was trying to do. The procedures for each type of video with each work programme, so I didn't change my methods.
Here are the steps that follow the for each piece of software:
FORMAT FACTORY
Open the program.Under the "video" tab, select "all to Custom" opens another window. In this window, select "Output parameter" make sure that your output parameters are setup like this: Type = MP4Use decoder system = OffVideo Encode = size of the video AVC (H264) = DefaultBitrate = 2400FPS = 24Aspect Ratio = AutomaticEncode 2 Pass = NoAudio Encode = AACSample = 44100Bitrate = 128Audio Channel = Audio 2Disable = NoVolume control = 0dB-well that I suppose you could change it if your audio is too low.Audio stream index = DefaultI Don't extensible mess with the other options below this point.5. Save the video parameter as the iPad and press "OK".6. In the window "all to Custom", select "Add file".

Put the DVD that you want to convert in the drive of your PC.Open the Daniusoft DVD to iPad Converter.Click "load DVD" button in the upper left.Navigate far is your DVD. Click "ok" the program will then load the DVD file structure.The main screen will show the different titles available on DVD.You can select and preview in the preview window.Select the title you want to convert. For films, it will generally be the title with the period the longest length or the race.Below, make sure that the output profile "iPad" is selected.You can also select where the converted file will be saved.When you are ready, click the large "start" button in the lower right.The program will then begin the conversion process.When it is finished, add the file converted to iTunes and then it is available to be synchronized on your iPad for your listening pleasure.This program has taken each DVD I threw at it without need to rip it for the hard disk and break any encryption. Good program.There are other programs and methods out there to do the same thing and others swear by them. This works for me. I hope this helps some people.

A won a non - 3 G iPad 16 GB free to work for the good work, but I have internet step wireless home - just standard plug-in cable lan with my laptop.
Problem: I would really like to start downloading apps, so I can look at comics, etc. on my new iPad. But I do not have a source of nearby wireless internet, neither do have bluetooth on my laptop.
QUESTION: can I connect my iPad via USB cable to my laptop and use as a modem for my iPad so I can access the app store boutique, etc.. ?

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I did the work and decided to devote the necessary time to share with others should anyone who wants a cool project that is also very useful in the car.
You can apply this design of socket 12 floating (lighter) with a USB cable. My design goals were to
1 > step use the lighter because it is large, bulky and stick.
2 > I wanted to keep the number of adapters, plugs, etc. to an absolute minimum.
3 > I wanted to be they mount panel so that all electronic devices are hidden behind the dash.
4 > I needed several cards for her. Originally, I had just two and extended to (4) as she would sometimes need to connect (3) articles in. (i.e. his iphone, bluetooth helmet and its GPS). Now, if I am, I am in the car with my iPad or iphone a trip, even more reason to have points of sale (4).
Some would say excessive, but we use it. And since corks that I chose are dual usb, I had to mount connectors only two of the Panel for usb plugs (4). And each can provide 5vdc/2 a/10W required to operate and feed an iPad 2.
I considered a PCB. You can buy kits from Radio Shack or I don't know of Digi-key or Newark Electronics, but I was not sure that each trace will need broad how to be able to carry current full 12vdc and 5vdc/2 has. It would be great if someone who had this knowledge could add to this position because the wiring and welding of at hand were a challenge and you can see photos that is was not enough well sure and many of the current capacity. Especially useful if someone was going to do more than one time at the disposal of the Commission would be to perhaps applies.
Can I use Tmobile with Ipad 2
The iPad gladly accepts a microSIM TMobile card. If you have an iPhone4 with the latest version of the iOS software and the iPhone has a TMobile SIM in it, then it can be defined as a WiFi hotspot too that your iPad can attach too, although TMobile can do tethering of the additional costs.

Moleskine/Dodocase DIY with a twist

The first way simpler to resolve the problems of ?unexplained? or ?unusual? with the iPad are:-.
Force the offender app to close. If you have iOS 4.2 or 4.3 double-press the ?Home? button to appear the multitasking bar at the bottom of the screen. Press * and hold * any icon until what they begin to ?jiggle?. Then click on the upper left corner of the application you want to close. It will be ?disappear? from the list. Don?t panic - you?ve delete, just its closure. Now take advantage of the home screen and multitasking bar will disappear. Reopen the iPad?s app and see if the problem is solved itself. Otherwise, it?s possible solution number two!
Restart the iPad. Press * and hold * power button. After a few seconds a slider control will appear asking you to confirm that you really want to turn off the iPad (this is the you?ll to do). Drag the control to accept. White ?bezel? rotation will appear on the iPad as the powers down iPad screen (it takes a few seconds, just as it would if you were close your PC). When the iPad screen has disappeared completely white, press * and hold * power button for a few seconds until the white Apple logo appears and the iPad starts to power. This takes a few seconds, then be patient. The power to the automatic screen orientation feature is turned off, so don?t panic. Seconds until the tension is over, the iPad plays a little ?jingle?, then you?re back to the home screen. Restart the iPad?s application and see if the problem persists. Apple (and the members of the Forum) recommend that you put your iPad at least once a week, just as you can regularly extinguish completely from your PC. The normal procedure of briefly simply pressing the button of the iPad feed updates ?sleep?. Most Forum members have found that one of the two methods mentioned here i?ve cure a whole bunch of problems that unexplained and constitute a first easy step to solve something most is happening on the iPad.

I see nothing better that to be able to create a page on my MacBook document, save it in my file exchange, and then on my iPad open, continue to work on it, close it and then be able to open once more on my MacBook and see all the changes I made on my iPad.
Of course this is not quite possible. You can open the files in the application of Pages in the application of Exchange, but you cannot save their return it.
Then, today, I heard a service called DropDav. It acts as a WebDav interface for your account to Exchange and you allows to open and save documents directly to and from Exchange in the Pages app itself. The only problem is that costs $5 per month, which is in reality much.
I've also heard of CloudDav, which purports to do the same for a cost of $5 times, but I heard it is slow and I'm guessing its unreliable? I don't know, I see nothing about it. If you buy a management application file cloud app store for $6, you can get included CloudDav.
Thus is WebDav, the only way to do this, or have other members found here another? And DropDav, is it worth? Honestly, I could see myself using it every day, but $5 per month seems lot of money just for this one function, does anything useful.

I expected jailbreak?
I know that most cons and pros of jailbreaking, I was jailbreaké twice in the past, but now I'm stock.I want to jailbreak again, but I would like to ask you some questions:
-If I install winterboard with a theme, sbsettings and some other applications/tweaks(not_alot) be it considerably slow down my iPhone 3GS (8 GB) or reduce the life of the battery by alot?Now, I usually have between 20 to 40% of the battery at the end of the day.
J ' I heard that there are some problems with FaceIT (facetime for 3GS).-Is this right?I have heard that if you uninstall it your iPhone is no longer boot up.
J ' I always would be able to get a virus if I do not use OpenSSH?I know the Alpine pass, but other people can connect to my iPhone even if I do not have this app installed?
-also, if I have problems with it, I can restore DFU and Apple / my carrier does not know that I never jailbroke, right?
Now, last time I jailbroke, I saw a drastic impact on performance, perhaps when I install me applications from the AppStore, but nothing else (games was still commonly etc.).

Albums photos on iPad
Found the answer too!
Download photo type app and synced all my photos with folders and subfolders via the Wifi network.
Works beautifully.
What's more I can now create albums on my iPad of photos I took with it.

Once a jailbreak for iPad 2 out, then it will be possible to load any file from a USB drive in the iPad 2, but now, it is not possible, as iOS has a restrictive file management and not let you access files directly.

If you open the iBook store and go to lower purchases tab, you will see a list of books you have purchased. By default, they are in the purchased order. If this is not the case, you can change this with the sort by button in the upper right.
The date of purchase is registered, but unfortunately, it is usually obscured by the download button / downloaded. If you are in landscape mode, all you can see the word is purchased..., but if convert you to picture you can see the full date for books that you can download, or just the month and day of the books that are already downloaded.
If, at least, you can obtain order of purchases and month/day. This may be sufficient, or not, depending on your needs.
The other method needs to be done in iTunes, but works much better.
First, you must have your books synced in iTunes on the computer to make this work. Just look under the category of books under the list of libraries in the left column and see if your books are.
If this is not the case, you need to connect your iPad to iTunes, select the iPad in the list of devices, go to the books top tab and configure the synchronization, click with the right button on the iPad under the list of devicesChoose transfer purchases.
This copy everything you have already purchased applications from Apple iTunes store. It may take some time, if there are many things to copy. (if this makes no sense, ask and I'll expand on it)
Once do you to go to the list of books in the library section in the left column. Right click the title bar (the top of the list where it says such things as name, author, etc.) and choose the date of purchase. This will add a column of date purchase on your ad.
You can change the order of the columns list by dragging with the mouse.
Not all the books in my list have a date of purchase, but do all those which I bought through the iBooks store.

Can I open a book that I buy in kindle app in the iBookstore? The problem is that I like the way a book review in the library, but there is not too much choice there. Kindle app as part of the Amazon offers a much greater variety of books.That is not possible.
Kindle ebooks are DRM protected, which means that you can only open & read Amazon Kindle with one of the official apps.
There's an autour work, but I'm not sure of the legality.
Embedded / wall Ipad2 Solution

Newbie question, so apologizes if obvious. Have also sought through the forums but could not find a specific answer.
I plan to get my ipad 2 in my kitchen wall - similar installation according to this video on youtube (search for mykitchenipad) only difference being that I will have two divisions aside - one for the home button and one for the front camera. Also the AV adapter will use digital Apple at the charger so I can mirror the TV of the main kitchen.
As this installation will mean covering the mic and speakers, I'm looking to implement some sort of external elements... speakers for clear HRT and reading speakers/mic for calls on FT/Skype etc.
Someone has some good recommendations on external speakers or mics would be useful for this kind of arrangement?
Yet once expect what I can from a certain way conceal or incorporate next to this

Time Warner Magazines Apps
Bumped you in the section of the App, as you most likely receive a response here.
I don't have these applications, but there are two standard ways of removal of materials on the iPad:
(a) sweeping through the magazine and then press delete
(b) pressing the magazine for 1 to 2 seconds and then select the x
However, it is quite possible that these magazines applications have no appropriate delete function.
I could use help to note taking
I apologize if this is dealt with elsewhere, but I didn't see a thread which has specifically addressed this. I do a lot to listen to the readings and I need to take good notes. If really it divided into two issues.
1 PDF. Some of my notes are given to me in hierarchical form via PDF. I can add notes to them quite easily with goodreader but have no good way to then put on my Mac and adding new notes. I have PDFEditor, but two applications do not seem to play nice together. When I add notes on the Mac my iPad has trouble seeing the notes and the visversa. Any suggestions?
2. Hands-free. Some classes require me into a word processor and take notes. I use pages for this. The problem is that Pages does not work all that well for note taking that you must generally make bullet points, use the tab key and levels numbers for topics and their sub topics then. The only way that I see manually tab and add new numbers, this however is much too much time when you try to quickly write the notes as the teacher takes the floor. This as well I need to be able to move back and forth between my iPad and Mac without messing up the formatting. Any suggestion?

Question about email iPad 2 filters
I am afraid, there is no way that you can add filters/mail rules in the electronic mail application for the iPad or, as far as I am aware, other third-party apps. These rules must be added on the server of your service provider messaging - perhaps using mail web to implement the rules. Simply a window on your service provider's e-mail server and it does not provide the functions that you have in, for example, Windows Mail, electronic mail of the iPad application is more or less. So you can create folders in the mail, you build on your e-mail server, and then the iPad them will reflect (if you use the IMAP mail protocol).

Can I have Apple store accounts in both countries?
Thanks for the advice - that is what I had hoped but was just to ensure... In my first experiences with iTunes I was forever docking the iPod wrong in one of several PCs that we use in the family and find themselves in a tangle and the addition of two iPod and iPhone 4 between the two different countries creates a matrix of multivariate analysis that I find a challenge.
This issue is resolved, all that remains is something I suspect is an upgrade of the future Apple software. Habing leaves the BlackBerry for iPhone in a corporate environment (hats off to the person who took this decision) and management across multiple time zones if someone could help me to configure input calendar and invitations of the iPhone in a timezone different area of the device is set surJe would be delirious with joy instead of just happy the first issue has been resolved. Problem with Apps crashing under 4.3.2
While I use icab myself, there are sometimes problems with some applications crash, after iOS software update. I had a similar problem with AlarmClock Pro and after contacting the developers, they mentioned that the uninstallation of the application and the installation and then if fresh would solve the issue.
Not sure if icab has a backup feature, but if this is the case, reinstalling the application may be useful.

The first way simpler to resolve the problems of ?unexplained? or ?unusual? with the iPad are:-.
Force the offender app to close. If you have iOS 4.2 or 4.3 double-press the ?Home? button to appear the multitasking bar at the bottom of the screen. Press * and hold * any icon until what they begin to ?jiggle?. Then click on the upper left corner of the application you want to close. It will be ?disappear? from the list. Don?t panic - you?ve delete, just its closure. Now take advantage of the home screen and multitasking bar will disappear. Reopen the iPad?s app and see if the problem is solved itself. Otherwise, it?s possible solution number two!

If the excel tables are not too complex, wise formula, and then a number could be used. Numbers Apple's Excel equivalent, although the iPad version has limited functionality from the version of Office, so if the tables are complex, it may not work correctly. Jacking my Home Theater to my iPad stopped working recently. Sound speakers iPad there but when I plug the jack, everything goes mute. The APP refunds
This is just a complaint by me. I'm new on the iPad, but I am not happy about the fact that you can get a refund of the App
Either they should be offer to refund, or need each app manufacturer provide a free demo version of their software to try.
I'm not happy with the last Videohunters app I bought, it has less search functions than even the basic web browser, or at least search functionality I wanted and had no way of knowing until I bought it.
The search for a file with the Exchange support & NAS Manager
Research to manage the files on my network my iPad wireless but must be able to access the files on my NAS (samba shares) and ideally also have Exchange support. Other cloud services are a bonus, but Dropbox is my preferred at this time. I saw a few applications that can do what I need but they offer no version lite for testing and some are relatively expensive.
Main uses will be be copy the files from the laptop NAS, move/delete files on my NAS and copy the files to a portable/NAS computer to Exchange.

I do not think that they have a similar free application to test before you buy... It is called NetPortalLite - however, it is an iPhone (native iPad support still pas) application. However, it uses the same "method" to access the SMB shares, so if it works, navigation will work (which is a much better app for iPad).

Not unless you jail break. Operating system of the iPad, iOS maintains control, very tight on what programs can and cannot do. It limits the interaction which may have programs and what control - if any - they can have on the operating environment. It is not possible for an application to close or open another, or for applications to interact - except in a very limited meaning and which are strictly controlled by iOS. While this imposes certain restrictions - as do not allow the kind of feature that you are proposing here, has many advantages, not least of which is that the iPad cannot get a virus.

Can you open the menu, under one of the tabs, there should be an option to adjust the size of the Image, if you define that nationally, will spread the image. It will still be full screen well.
Why my iPad storage space complete when transfer purchases on iTunes?
I recently purchased an iPad & it was great, but I noticed that when I am transferring my purchases to my Pad on my Mac, my disk space iPads from completing the category "other".
Why - what is this it? Certainly it should not put something on my Pad?
Now my storage space is almost full, but I have nothing on my iPad was not there before.

I bought my 80 GB iPod a few years ago, primarily to store photos of travel on the road (I've subsequently fell in love with podcasts and have all my music, but it is another story)
I now have an iPad 32 GB 2 and I love that I can see the RAW files on it.
But, I do not think that I have enough space for a long journey. (I take lots of photos and they are big)
My question is if I transfer pics from my iPad to my iPod when I am on the road.

OK, so I wrote a book and tried to promote in various Kindle and corner forums. It is also in the IPAD Bookstore but here's the problem.
Unless you have an IPAD, you cannot see it. This contrasts to the Kindle and corner bookstores that anyone with a computer can see online and can be downloaded even if they do not have a Kindle or nook.
So why does Apple let the general public to see the contents of their Bookstore? It almost seems that they are not really interested in selling books to everyone, except the IPAD owners. I am missing something?
I can't even post a link to my book here in the Ibook store. If you look at other writers, they display the links to Amazon or Barnes and Noble, which is what I do here.

Is there a way I can have a group of people annotate the same pdf file, but the file indicate that added marks annotated on the PDF document in the result?
I have 5 users who will use box.net and dropbox shares the same file in a folder PDF collaborated and I would like to know if it is possible to manage an annotated pdf document version control.
Anyone have any idea of which app or if it is still possible?
Example would open the PDF file and I highlighted the first paragraph and then someone else opens it and entering a note, and the next person highlighted the last paragraph. To see who did what on the recorded final copy?

Desktop app
I bought and use office2HD. I started to persevere with it, not in a bad way of course.
My big Exel files work perfectly with it and transfer back and forth beautifully. In typing in cells is not intuitive that it would have liked, but all still works.
As for word documents, not impressed. It reformats the page layout in a nasty way each time.

I would like to monitor my PC video streaming (flash, etc), and the DVD. Perhaps even play some PC games if I'm lucky, but not, it grows.
Is there something better than VNC? Iswifter and other programs of "easy Flash" are obviously using a kind of remote streaming video and other software, but all have limitations that would not promote my home PC.
I use Mocha VNC lite to play Pogo and yahoo games and chat in a room in JavaScript, that I love. But his and streaming video would rock!
Split Screen/side by side
Is an application that allows you to display two things at a time when editing one of them?
I saw the "side by side" app that allows various combinations of screen of split as a document and a pdf file or a web page and an IM app, but it does not allow the display of a thing and the edition of another. ie display a pdf writing and editing a document.
What does anyone know what it is that allows a page split screen display and a pdf and allows the mounting of the doc pages?
There is no split iOS wide screen. If you can have two different applications side by side.If you want, you will have to rely on a document on the web editor, as the PDF and the document to open in the same application.
You can open a PDF file in a single screen and use Google Docs in the other screen.
BTW. Skipper is also a splitscreenbrowser, but it is free.

I have come to know this forum as an expert for my iPad addiction, so I hope for a suggestion of one of the brilliant contributors.
On my PC, I use a program called Microsoft Streets and trips. Its a program useful to import a list of addresses on a worksheet and remove the as pins on a map to see a more visual representation of the place where in space that they are.
I have a list of new customers of perspective that I want to do it with for convenience however hoped to do on my iPad. Someone has a suggestion for an application which will complete this need?

Two accounts on an iPad
I try to help a friend with a problem of iPad but the solution (if any) is beyond my capacity.
It has a new iPad 2. Many employees were obtained by his employer. He had a number of preinstalled applications.
His problem is attempting to update preinstalled applications. He has created his own account and can buy and update the new apps but it is stuck on those preinstalled. He can see the name of the account (this is an email address), but the it Department does not have the password and the email address is not responding. It assumes that his company has made a purchase in bulk (there may be 100 given) and a 3rd party vendor preinstalled applications.
Free applications are not a problem. It can remove those and then download their new for its own account. However, he would like to be able to update the paid applications and it cannot do that without the password.
I see no solution, but perhaps online it Genius Bar here can do something.

Want to 2-hour + video continuous; Can't. I want to make a video for a long time. Point to the baseball diamond, leave it alone and save the League game shortly together when my grandson is pitching. Clearly there is enough memory (64 GB) and enough battery for 2 or 3 hours, but he stops recording "automatically" after about an hour, and I can't find a way to control that.
