Flash is used to play your videos, games, and other popular things on the web. Every since the iPhone came out, one of the problems was that it didn't support Flash. This was a big deal since a lot of websites were build with Flash and were unable to be viewed within Safari. Apple was mainly trying to push everyone to start using HTML5 and other formats since they were safer. So finally Adobe has moved on to other things.

ZDNet had this to say:
"Our future work with Flash on mobile devices will be focused on enabling Flash developers to package native apps with Adobe AIR for all the major app stores. We will no longer adapt Flash Player for mobile devices to new browser, OS version or device configurations. Some of our source code licensees may opt to continue working on and releasing their own implementations. We will continue to support the current Android and PlayBook configurations with critical bug fixes and security updates."

Flash will still be updated with bug fixes and security updates for time to time, however that is the only attention it is going to get. So for all of those other devices out there Advertised with being able to support Flash, that's the last we'll see of you.

Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-89676773022730557882012-01-10T14:52:00.000+00:002012-01-10T14:52:00.362+00:00iTunes Match Launched!

Click here to download iTunes 10.5.1 from Apple.
Or open iTunes and click on "Check for Updates".

NOTE: iTunes Match is currently only available in the United States.

Apple just rolled out iTunes 10.5.1 which includes iTunes Match, Apple's cloud music locker that was supposed to come out weeks ago. iTunes Match will cost $24.99 per year, and will allow you to access your entire music library from Apple's iCloud servers.

iTunes Match matches your songs to iTunes' 20 million song library. For songs iTunes doesn't have, you can upload them to iCloud servers for playback from other devices.

While iCloud doesn't technically "stream" music to you, it lets you download your music to any device on demand. You can "unpin" music you've downloaded at any time if you want to free up space. It all works within the iTunes client for Mac, and within the iTunes Store app for iPhone.

Here's the press release from Apple:

With iTunes Match, even songs you’ve imported from CDs can be stored in iCloud. And you can play them on any iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC — whenever you want and wherever you are, without syncing. iTunes Match is just $24.99 a year.

Here’s how it works: iTunes determines which songs in your collection are available in the iTunes Store. Any music with a match is automatically added to iCloud for you to listen to anytime, on any device. Since there are more than 20 million songs in the iTunes Store, chances are, your music is already in iCloud. And for the few songs that aren’t, iTunes has to upload only what it can’t match. Which is much faster than starting from scratch. Once your music is in iCloud, you can stream and store it to any of your devices. Even better, all the music iTunes matches plays back from iCloud at 256-Kbps AAC DRM-free quality — even if your original copy was of lower quality.
Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-30016606499888368252012-01-10T04:52:00.000+00:002012-01-10T04:52:00.732+00:00UNTETHER JAILBREAK iOS 5.0.1 On Tethered iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, iPad 1

FINALLY RELEASED!!!!! Both are shown next to two iPad 2 home buttons in the same colour for comparison purposes. If the truth be told, you?d be hard pushed to actually spot the difference! It is, apparently, smaller inside, which could mean that Apple wants to use up every available bit of space inside the next iPad, but for what, we don?t know yet! As 9to5 Mac notes, however, the existence of the buttons, if they are indeed genuine, points to the iPad 3 being released in both black and white versions, as with the iPad 2. Also, the fact that actual physical home screen buttons are now in existence and being photographed would give further credence to therecent rumour that the iPad 3 will be released as early as February, and that it may well already be in production. And of course, the pictures also dispel the rumour that the next iPad will not even have a home button!
Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-28525902926373313332012-01-09T17:07:00.000+00:002012-01-09T17:07:01.417+00:00EA's New Version of Tetris Arrives in App Store

EA Mobile has today launched a re-imagined version of one the most popular games of all time, Tetris. And do you remember how much fun it was to make collages? It didn?t matter that you couldn?t draw at all, you could be the most creative one in the class, all you needed was scissors, glue, colored pencils, and you could have beaten Da Vinci himself. Well, the new Mixel app for iPad will remind you of such happy times. Mixel is a very creative app that completely reinvents collage so that everyone will want to do one. Everything in Mixel can be shared and remixed, making it the word?s first social art app. It?s all an adult could would want: it?s fun, not messy, and blends in the possibilities of socializing. What more could you want?

Mixel, who was created in New York?s Dogpatch Labs, is extremely easy to use. You can now proceed to share your latest art accomplishment on Facebook, Twiter or Tumblr. You can also share your creation with other users of the app. Mixel users can follow one another and receive feeds.

What?s more any Mixel user can ?re-invent? your collage, adding their own twist to your vision, but don?t worry you won?t loose your original. Both version will be saved and displayed so people can witness the evolution of the artwork. Another feature allows you to add text to your ?Mixels?. Mixel was designed by Scott Ostler, co-founder of the image-sharing site Dump.fm and Khoi Vinh, a former design director for the NYTimes.com and can be downloaded for free from the App Store.
Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-42310066170397396632012-01-08T22:44:00.000+00:002012-01-08T22:44:00.481+00:00Batman: Arkham City Lockdown Gets Update

Warner Bros. Also included in the update is one new free Batman skin, 70s Batman, which is free to download with the update, and players will also be able to purchase a new Batman skin, Earth One Batman. Both skins have all new stats, and bring with them new challenges as well as extending the game experience for the fans.

Developed by NetherRealm Studios (Mortal Kombat), Batman: Arkham City Lockdown features several of Gotham City?s most fiendish villains, including The Joker, Two-Face and Solomon Grundy, as well as the iOS-exclusive Deathstroke. Very recently, the company created a job posting calling for all interested software engineers to join the iWork team. The applicant, will be integrated in the iWork team on the front and/or back end of scalable web applications. The jobs were listed just a day after Apple announced the iCloud.com beta service, which incorporates Calendar, Mail and Contacts via an web app. These feats were first intended for Apple?s MobileMe Service, which has been dropped. iCloud is also rumored to have a working section of iWork apps, but nothing has been posed yet.

iWork.com offers space for hosting of documents coming from iWork applications, but this will soon be integrated into iCloud. iWork also allows users to view and share documents, but it won?t let them add any changes (editing). The jobs posted, advertised free spots for the iWork team, but it is not clear yet whether this applies to the existing iWork domain and web service or if it applies to the iCloud part of the iWork. But given the fact that the jobs were announced right after the iCloud.com news came out, it is likely the engineering jobs will go to the iCloud team instead.

Apple may be going into the Google Docs and Microsoft Office 265 direction, if it will keep up the plans of expanding iWork beyond the current, as the job posting asks for experience in ?developing web application frameworks, building and maintain large-scale distributed systems and building web application user interfaces.? Are you brushing your CV yet?
Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-86226486843856942682012-01-08T07:02:00.000+00:002012-01-08T07:02:00.193+00:00Skitch app, now available for iPad

It’s time to get a little excited. Evernote just came out with Skitch for iPad. Skitch has already been available on Mac, but from now on Apple lovers will be able to enjoy it as well. Skitch combines the easiest ways to share quick image captures with a friendly and accessible interface. The original release dated back from 2007 but somehow it never managed to pull out of the beta pre-release state. The Skitch platform was acquired by Evernote in August 2011 and finally got going in version 1.0.

Skitch is super fun and is a intuitive way of moving your ideas and projects forward using fewer words. Also, Skitch enjoys a smart system that will identify recently-made screenshots, which will be automatically be saved to your camera roll. The app also has its own browser. You can now mark up the webpages you want to come back to, in order to highlight your objects of interests.

Skitch offers a variety of tolls that are designed for speed : Finger, Pencil, Arrows, Text, Shapes, Crop, Color and thickness and Thrash.
Interestingly, the Skitch team used to be under the Plasq banner, the publisher of Comic Life – that jumped from Mac to iPad back in May of this year.
Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-79329922305000159422012-01-07T21:06:00.000+00:002012-01-07T21:06:01.463+00:00News From Japan Says Apple Planning LTE 4G iPads and iPhones for 2012

AppleInsider has a story today based on a report from Japan?s Nikkei Business which states that Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo is currently holding talks with Apple with a view to launching an LTE-capable iPad in mid 2012, to be followed by a 4G LTE iPhone in fall 2012. According to the unconfirmed report, NTT DoCoMo executives travelled to the US in November for talks with Apple CEO Tim Cook, which are said to have revolved around Apple?s forthcoming LTE-ready iPhones and iPads. However, AppleInsider points out that the accuracy of the report is called into question by a previous report earlier in the month in the Wall Street Journal, which said that Apple?s negotiations with NTT DoCoMo had stalled, with Apple allegedly refusing to grant the Japanese carrier permission to install its own proprietary software on the new iPhones and iPads. However, that doesn?t necessarily mean that the latest rumour from Nikkei Business is not true, of course, as its always possible that negotiations have resumed and the original stumbling block between the two parties has been resolved. As ever, we'll just have to wait and see!
Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-2940646014399187312012-01-07T13:09:00.000+00:002012-01-07T13:09:00.316+00:00Yet Another iOS 5 UNTETHERED Jailbreak Update From pod2g "Focused on A5"
In a blog post titled "Focused on A5" pod2g, the person responsible for the upcoming iOS 5 untethered Jailbreak, tells us the Jailbreak is almost complete... at least for non-A5 iDevices. pod2g has send all of the info and details to Chronic Dev who are going to put together the Jailbreak for public release. While they are working on that, pod2g will be focusing on getting a working untethered Jailbreak for the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S. He hopes to find a "path quick" with a little help from Chronic Dev as well.

"I read the comments on the blog, and I know that a lot of people are waiting for the A5 jailbreak.

Also, I know there are tons of people out there with A4 or even earlier devices who wants the untether now and don't care about it could be interesting to wait A5 is finished to release or even 5.1, so that we don't waste an exploit that took me months to find and develop.

I need to focus on A5 and hope I can find a path quick, and I have the feeling that chronic-dev could help me.

So, here is what I did:
- I gave all the details to the chronic dev team so that they can finish, test, integrate and release the A4 jb ASAP.
- I'll put all my energy from now on on the A5

Hope I don't disappoint.

See you." However, in the post he does mention wanting to wait for iOS 5.1 to be released publicly by Apple so that he can see if his exploit was patched. This could possibly mean we might have to wait until January for the release of the untethered Jailbreak but no official word from pod2g, just a thought. If he were to release the Jailbreak for iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.0.1 before the public release of 5.1, Apple could patch his exploit which "took months to find and develop". So if we wait for 5.1 to release we could possibly have the latest firmware untethered and Jailbroken. This of course means a longer wait, but a more recent Jailbreak.

What do you guys think?
Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-11548491711064114602012-01-07T04:01:00.000+00:002012-01-07T04:01:03.183+00:00Icon skins wallpaper suddenly doesnt fit!
Can anyone help me? I use an app called PIMP MY SCREEN, have downloaded many wallpapers and icon skin wallpapers ( the ones where there are designs that your home screen icons seem to fit in to). I have used them on my iPhone and my iPad without any hassles, and the looked really awesome. Yesterday I imported all my pics / wallpaper and icon skins into iPhoto and organized them into folders, I have done this before without any problems. But after I did it this time, a lot of my wallpapers seem to now be too big for the screen??
Icon skin wallpapers that used to fit perfectly, don't now (the little 'allocated' spaces for the home screen icons are too big and do not line up with the home screen icons anymore). Apple took upon itself to raise as much as $10,000 per US employee per year. But the company outdone itself and ended up raising $2.6 million in just two months. This is a great start.

AppleInsider was the first to announce the scoop ? You can then easily share the results with anyone you like, such as friends, family or work colleagues, and you can also save it to Evernote.

The app features a comprehensive selection of drawing and annotating tools, including a finger tool, pencil, arrows, text boxes, shapes, and cropping tools. Evernote says that it also plans an iPhone version of Skitch, but that it decided to launch it on iPad first because ?it?s the ideal form factor for tactile annotation?. Just use it and you?ll be amazed by how much a few simple shapes and arrows can do.?

Already hugely popular on the Mac, this is going to take the iPad by storm!

Click here to download Skitch for iPad for free: Skitch for iPad for iPad on the iTunes App Store

Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-15274061668823937142012-01-05T13:48:00.000+00:002012-01-05T13:48:00.893+00:00How To UNTETHER JAILBREAK iOS 5.0.1 iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G, iPad 1
FINALLY RELEASED!!!!! iOS 5 UNTETHERED JAILBREAK!!!!! iPHONE, iPOD TOUCH, iPAD!!!!!!!

This Jailbreak Supports The Following Devices:

iPhone4 (GSM)
iPhone4 (CDMA)
iPhone3GS
iPod touch 3G
iPod touch 4G
iPad 1

Supports iOS 5.0.1

You will need:
Redsn0w 0.9.10b1

Redsn0w:
Dev-Team Blog - redsn0w iOS5beta

iOS Firmware Download:
iPhone, iPod, iPad and Firmware/Software Download

Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-12094732850902290102012-01-05T07:19:00.000+00:002012-01-05T07:19:00.589+00:007.1 MEGAPIXEL iPad CAMERA With 4X Zoom, Flash, & 1.5" LCD!
The Sakar "AppClix" Disney iPad Camera is an external camera for the iPad 1 & 2. This camera has it's own built-in dock connector which will allow you to transfer your photos right on your iPad. You can download an app called Disney Pix which will act as a middle-man when you transfer photos to your Photos app. The camera itself has 7.1 MegaPixels, 4X Zoom, a rechargeable battery, built-in flash, and a 1.5 inch LCD screen. Now I must warn you, you will get to choose a Disney character design, which some people might not want, but that nothing a sticker can't fix! Taiwan?s United Daily News is reportedly claiming that Apple is looking at samples of 7.85-inch screens that sport a 1024x768 resolutions for the iPad. The report goes on to say that there are already companies negotiating production of displays like LG. What could this mean? Of course if this project comes to see the light of day, it won?t be just another iPad out there, we?re certainly going to be seeing the Mini iPad, and every website has been talking about. Although, Steve Jobs himself in one of his last conferences made it clear that he thought about the 10-inch screen as a minimum requirement for a decent iPad. So what?s it going to be then?

A tough problem in this quest would probably be designing a considerable smaller screen that would be able to use the same resolution as the current iPad. Why would they need to use the same resolution? Well for starters, apps could run natively on the iPad Mini without any extra interference. Shrinking down the elements of the interface might also bring problems, since it would automatically make the iPad not so easy to handle and use. People with big fingers would be really annoyed.

iPad Mini rumors are not fresh and ripe, but at least this time they seem to come from genuine supply chain leaks, whereas the other information came from market analysts. Analysts aren?t necessarily experts in Apple vision and are better at predicting numbers and figures. It doesn?t mean they couldn?t get lucky this time.

I mean, what better way to counter the Amazon?s latest bold moves and its extreme all time success, Kindle Fire? It?s impossible not to ask: could an iPad Mini be priced lower or approximately the same as a Kindle? That would certainly motivate costumers on the lookout for a good tablet, but on the budget. We probably shall know soon enough?
Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-36798855950859174022012-01-04T16:00:00.000+00:002012-01-04T16:00:08.384+00:00iOS 5.1 Beta 5.1 Disables Settings Shortcut Tweak

AppleInsider reports today on news from Italian Apple site iSpazio.net, which has discovered that a tweak in iOS 5 that let iPhone and iPad owners use shortcuts to access certain iOS settings, such as Wi-Fi, Airplane Mode, or Bluetooth, has been disabled in the iOS 5.1 beta. The tweak worked by enabling users to use the iOS Safari browser to add a specific web link to their home screen, which could be accessed by tapping the relevant icon, and which would then take you to the required Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. And you didn?t have to even jailbreak your device to use the tweak. AppleInsider notes that it was a popular workaround, as it meant that people could quickly turn their Bluetooth on or off, for example, rather than going through the more longwinded process of accessing Settings>General>Bluetooth. Likewise with the Airplane Mode, another popular shortcut enabled by the tweak. Whether or not this tweak has been permanently disabled, or might be reinstated in the next beta release is not yet known, but for now, if you want to use it, you can?t!

Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-71285360455692953632012-01-04T10:44:00.000+00:002012-01-04T10:44:00.765+00:00Infinity Blade II Out Tomorrow
Tomorrow, December 1, is a very exciting day for iOS gamers, as it?s the day that Infinity Blade II will hit the app store. This just has to be one of the most eagerly awaited iOS game releases ever, so in a bid to ramp up the excitement ever further, Epic Games and ChAIR Entertainment has released a new video which, as TUAW reports, is a developer diary that features ChAIR?s Simon Hurley (Senior Producer) and Donald Mustard (Creative Director) talking about the new attacks featured in Infinity Blade II, and also provides a mouth-watering sneak peak at the amazing graphics you can expect to enjoy, starting from tomorrow. Hurley talks of the new fighting combos that have been added to the game, whereas Mustard talks about the new weapon classes, which enable you to customize your gameplay style depending on an enemy?s particular weaknesses. Enjoy!

Infinity Blade II is out tomorrow for iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, and iPod touch 4th and 3rd Gen..
Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-13762842689341722662012-01-04T01:54:00.000+00:002012-01-04T01:54:00.245+00:00Apple Had More Online Shopping Traffic Than Wal-Mart of eBay Last Month

Here's more proof that Apple really knows how to draw in its customers. Apparently, Apple is one of the top 15 most visited websites, and actually had more online shopping traffic last month, than Wal-Mart or even eBay! According to the latest Comscore market research data, Apple?s website generated over 79.2 million unique visitors in November. That was more than eBay, with 72.1 million, and Walmart, with 58.5 million. In fact, this was more than twice some of the other major shopping sites, like Best Buy, with 36.5 million, and Sears, at 31 million.

Now, of course, this begs the question... how did they do that? Here's a quote from the SlashGear article with the answer,

The answer is simple, and comes down to a single word; iTunes. The digital media store consists of roughly 30 percent of Apple?s almost 80 million U.S. unique visitors last month. Impressive, to say the least!

Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-21158402039998794542012-01-03T18:17:00.000+00:002012-01-03T18:17:00.976+00:00Disabled Oregon voters get the chance to vote using the iPad

This week?s US election in Oregon announces itself to be a very interesting one, as some voters will be allowed to cast their ballots from iPads. Election officials will be equipped with iPads and will be visiting voters to allow them to vote more easily. The State of Oregon will be the first to allow voters to use the iPad. Electronic officials in Oregon said that they wanted to make voting as convenient as possible. It has been about five years since the office has invested in a new system for voters with disabilities ? a lifetime when it comes to technology. So, with the system nearing the end of its life, the office decided to experiment with new approaches, including laptops and various tablet computers. The iPad, offers a huge amount of flexibility for disabled people. For those who have issues with vision, the iPad can even read the ballot aloud. They also have the option of adjusting text size and colors. Voters can sign with their fingers or with pens, whichever suits their needs. And the tablet can be controlled using sip-and-puff wands for those who don?t have full use of their hands. Apple has donated five iPads to Oregon to test out the program, but the Oregon state government had to spend $72,000 on the software that runs on the iPads. To deploy the iPad statewide, if the pilot program is successful, the state would need to buy 72 iPads (2 per county) for a total of $ 36,000. If successful, this program will most likely spread country wide.

Beverly Joneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03305508562358354141noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1027588067233467916.post-69131186991250110152012-01-03T11:28:00.000+00:002012-01-03T11:28:00.405+00:00Infinity Blade 2 GAMEPLAY For iPhone, iPod Touch, & iPad (First Look)

Elly from the YouTube channel AppChat decides to join us today shows us whats new in the sequel to Infinity Blade, simply called Infinity Blade 2.
