Splashtop: Installation success anyone?

Agree with the poet - I have it working on a PC and have never had the slightest problem.

Install the PC application, install the iPad app, start the iPad app, search my PC and concludes that it is.

If you want remote access - i.e. outside your local network at home, then you must (a) are updated later in the iPad app * and * the PC application (this only works on PC currently ) and give the iPad and PC address gmail (not ask me why!) and that is this - not of port not forwarding, no IP messing, no reconfiguration of firewalls or antivirus software - no, it doesn't work!
