Two accounts on an iPad

I try to help a friend with a problem of iPad but the solution (if any) is beyond my capacity.

It has a new iPad 2. Many employees were obtained by his employer. He had a number of preinstalled applications.


His problem is attempting to update preinstalled applications. He has created his own account and can buy and update the new apps but it is stuck on those preinstalled. He can see the name of the account (this is an email address), but the it Department does not have the password and the email address is not responding. It assumes that his company has made a purchase in bulk (there may be 100 given) and a 3rd party vendor preinstalled applications.


Free applications are not a problem. It can remove those and then download their new for its own account. However, he would like to be able to update the paid applications and it cannot do that without the password.


I see no solution, but perhaps online it Genius Bar here can do something.
