MacRumors highlights a new report today from RBC Capital Markets analyst Mike Abramsky in which he predicts that Apple will easily beat market expectations for its quarterly earnings report, which is due next week. Abramsky's report also features the results of a survey of 2000+ people in the US that took place between March 14-23, which found that there was 40% higher demand for the iPad 2 than there was for the original iPad in a survey that was conducted in May 2010. According to the results of the more recent survey, 28% of respondents said that they were either ?very likely? or ?somewhat likely? to purchase an iPad 2, as opposed to 20% who said the same of the first-gen iPad last year.

Another interesting change picked up by the survey was the increased popularity of the 32 GB Wi-Fi only iPad2, which proved to be the most popular of the Wi-Fi-only models among the recently surveyed respondents. This is in contrast to last year?s survey, which found that the cheaper 16 GB Wi-Fi-only original iPad was the most popular. For the Wi-Fi and 3G models though, the results stayed consistent from last year to this, with the high-end 64 GB version coming out on top both times.

Finally, the survey also looked at customer demand in terms of carrier, finding that 46% of 3G iPad 2 customers intended to go with Verizon, while just 30% said they would be going for the AT&T model.
