ebooks back to Pc

I have recently lost my PC hard drive along with my 500 or so epub ebooks! They are still on my ipad however. IS there any software that will alllow me to transfer them back to my PC in the same format that I sent them across to the ipad with? You know, title, cover page etc.

Itunes will not let me send them back, don't now why the limitation, seems stupid to me. All I want to do is archive them before I lose them on the ipad.

Anyone every done this before?
